Ardal O'Hanlon
A dimwitted priest, a tropical detective, and a cat-man pilot. He has played them all. He is also a novelist, and did we mention that he is a pioneering figure in Irish comedy?
Ardal O’Hanlon has triumphed as an actor (Father Ted, Death In Paradise, Dr Who), an author (The Talk Of The Town, Brouhaha), and, along with Barry Murphy and Kevin Gildea, he was was a founding father of Ireland’s alternative comedy scene and Irish comedy’s subsequent rise to prominence.
Across the decades and various displays of his many talents, Ardal is still going strong, and his punchy, absurdist, life-enhancing stand-up is enjoyed at major comedy festivals worldwide and on such prominent comedy shows as Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Dave’s One Night Stand.
“Displays a proficiency of delivery which puts him well ahead of the pack. He is a complete joy to watch, planting the sort of silly images that bump around in your head forever” - The Guardian
