The Hurler: A Campion's Tale
The Hurler tells the story of Ireland’s most notorious hurler, Gar Campion. He is Ireland’s David Beckham, a fashionista sportsman with a celebrity girlfriend. However, when he becomes the first Hurler in history to fail a test for performance enhancing drugs, he is blackballed from the sport he loves and his swanky lifestyle disappears. He is then forced to rebuild his shattered reputation by coaching Ireland’s worst Junior B Hurling team, who’ve never won a game in the history of their club.
The film debuted in cinemas nationwide in 2023, charting in the UK Box Office Top 40, and ranked number 1 on Amazon Prime. Featuring an A-List supporting cast of Irish comedy royalty including Jon Kenny, Mario Rosenstock, David McSavage, Karl Spain…and Marty Morrissey, The Hurler is the Irish indie comedy film that broke all the rules and blew everybody’s expectations out of the water.
