Deirdre O'Kane

Galway is a special place for Deirdre O’Kane. “I started my acting career here. My first two professional years were in the city. I loved that time. It was electric, It was magical.” That relationship continues with her return to the city for this year’s comedy fest, performing at numerous mixed bill shows throughout the week.

As well as being one of Ireland’s most loved comedians, she is truly ‘some woman for one woman’, having fronted her own talk show, Deirdre O’Kane Talks Funny (RTÉ One); debut a new stand-up comedy series, The Deirdre O’Kane Show (Sky Comedy); co-founding Comic Relief in Ireland; hosting the IFTA awards; and reaching the finals of the RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars.
